What are the weight limitations?
Weight is a critical factor in providing a safe flight. All passengers will be weighed at check-in. If a passenger weighs 250 lbs or more, and is within the aircraft limitations, they will be required to purchase a comfort seat for an additional $99.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations 24 hours or more in advance will be refunded in full or rescheduled at no additional fee. Cancellations within 24 hours of your scheduled flight will be subject to a $50 per person fee. The $50 per person fee will be kept as credit on your account and may be applied to the retail purchase price of any Chicago Helicopter Experience product within 12 months. Failure to show up for or call to cancel/reschedule a scheduled flight will result in forfeiture of the entire payment amount on the reservation. Cancellations due to weather restrictions may be rescheduled for no additional fee.
What if there is inclement weather?
In the event of weather conditions which are either unsafe to fly in or would diminish your tour experience, we will contact you at least 1.5 hours before your scheduled departure time to reschedule your flight. There are no fees or costs associated with flights rescheduled due to weather.
How many people can fit in a ride?
6 people will sit comfortably on each flight along with the pilot.
Can I bring my own camera to take pictures?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it.
Do you fly year round?
Yes. We have day and night flights available throughout the year.
Can I take a helicopter to the airport?
We offer charters to and from Midway, O’Hare and other regional airports. Please visit our charters section for more information.
Is there a place I can store my belongings before the flight?
We offer free lockers to store your belongings.
Where does the aircraft take off and land?
We depart and land from our private, downtown heliport just minutes from the “Loop” located at 2420 S Halsted St, Chicago IL 60608.
Do you fly everyday of the week?
Yes. We fly Monday through Sunday year-round.
Is there an age restriction?
Yes, we require that children be at least 3 years of age to fly with us. Also, there must be at least one person from your reservation over the age of 18.
How are the views from inside the helicopter?
Amazing from every seat!
Is there parking onsite parking at your location?
We have plenty of FREE parking available.
How long are the tours?
The total experience is 1 hour . You will be in the air for 15 minutes and travel over 24 miles.
What do I see on the tour?
Is it cold/hot on the aircraft?
Our luxurious helicopters are climate controlled.
Will I be charged if I miss my flight?
Yes. We take off on time, just like any airline. If you miss your flight, you will be charged the full amount of your reservation.
Will the pilot be speaking to us about the landmarks we pass during the tour?
Yes, your pilot will live narrate your tour. Our pilots interact with you throughout the flight providing insight, history, and facts on Chicago's buildings, landmarks, and historic events.
Do you offer same day booking or walk-ins?
Walk-ins are welcome and we have same day booking for most tours. During our busy season, you may be asked to wait for the next available seats. We encourage you to book in advance to confirm your reservations.
What is your address?
We are located at 2420 S. Halsted. We have plenty of free parking and we are 1 block from the Halsted Orange Line stop.
Can I pick my seat in the helicopter?
Seats are based on weight and balance, so we do not allow individual seat selection.
What can I do while I wait for my flight?
We have a 6000 sq. ft. Customer Experience Center filled with fun facts about Chicago, helicopter history, a flight simulator, and other interactive games to add to your experience before your flight.
